Privacy Policy

Effective: August 14, 2026 · Infinite Nature Group, Inc. · Beaumont, TX
The short version: Shel™ protects your family on your device. Audio and video are processed on your device only — never recorded, never sent to our servers. Community signals are anonymized before leaving your device — we cannot identify your family from them. We do not sell your data. Ever.

1. Who We Are

Shel™ is a family content protection service operated by Infinite Nature Group, Inc., a Texas corporation based in Beaumont, Texas. References to "Shel™," "we," "us," or "our" refer to Infinite Nature Group, Inc.

Contact: privacy@shel.app

2. Geographic Availability

Shel™ is currently available in the United States and Canada only. We do not knowingly provide service to users in the European Union or United Kingdom at this time.

3. Information We Collect

3a. Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. We also store how you registered (through a streaming device, phone app, or our website) and whether you have completed initial setup.

3b. Content Monitoring — On-Device Only

Shel™ processes audio output from your device's media playback and video frames from your screen to detect inappropriate content. This processing happens entirely on your device. No audio, no video, and no transcripts are ever recorded, stored, or transmitted to Shel's servers.

The Bleep Engine monitors audio output — what is coming out of your speakers — not microphone input. Shel™ cannot hear conversations in your home and does not access your microphone for content monitoring.

The Visual Monitor captures screen frames at approximately 2 frames per second during active video playback. Frames are analyzed on your device and immediately discarded. No frame data leaves your device.

3c. Val — Voice and Message Safety Monitor

Val is a separate system from content monitoring and requires its own consent. Val uses your device microphone to listen for your child's spoken words and uses Android Accessibility Services to read on-screen message content.

Voice monitoring: Val processes audio from your device's microphone in a 3-second RAM buffer. Audio is analyzed on-device by Whisper, a speech recognition model. The buffer is zeroed immediately after analysis. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted. Val detects language patterns and reports detection categories only — never transcripts.

Message monitoring: Val reads message content displayed on screen using Android Accessibility Services. Message content is analyzed on-device only. No message text, sender identity, or conversation history is stored or transmitted to Shel's servers. Val reports detection categories and alert types only.

Val is disabled in school deployments. Val voice monitoring is off by default for teen profiles and must be explicitly enabled by a parent. Your child is informed when Val is active through a persistent device notification.

3d. Community Intelligence Pipeline

When Shel™ detects a content violation on your device, an anonymized signal may be contributed to our community database to improve protection for all Shel™ families. This signal contains:

Val detections are never included in community signals. Message monitoring results are never included in community signals. Only content monitoring signals (audio bleep, video blur, DNS block) are eligible for community contribution.

3e. Network Activity

When Home Shield DNS filtering is active, DNS queries from your home network are processed through Cloudflare's Gateway service. We receive aggregate statistics about blocked and allowed categories — not individual URLs or browsing history. This data is displayed in your family dashboard and is not shared with third parties.

3f. Device Information

We store basic information about devices registered to your account: device type, platform, and when it was last seen. We do not collect device identifiers beyond what is necessary to associate a device with your family account.

4. COPPA — Children's Privacy

Shel™ is a parental control service. Parents and guardians create accounts and add child profiles. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Child profiles contain a name and age group selected by a parent. Detection events associated with a child profile are stored in your family account and accessible only to the authenticated parent.

Community pipeline signals associated with a child's device use a one-way hash and contain no name, profile ID, or any information that could identify the child.

Before we collect any community pipeline data from a child's device, the parent must provide verifiable consent through a dedicated consent screen. This consent is stored with a timestamp.

Parents may request deletion of all data associated with their family account, including all child profile data, at any time. See Section 7.

5. How We Use Your Information

We do not use your information for advertising. We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not build advertising profiles.

6. Data Sharing

We share data only as follows:

7. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of all data associated with your Shel™ account at any time by emailing privacy@shel.app or using the deletion request feature in your account settings.

We will execute deletion within 30 days of a verified request. Community pipeline signals cannot be recalled once contributed, as they are anonymized and not linked to your identity. All other data will be permanently deleted.

You may also request a copy of all data we hold about your family by contacting privacy@shel.app.

8. Data Retention

9. Security

Authentication tokens are stored with device-level encryption on your device. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. All data in transit is encrypted using TLS. We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure.

10. Children's Safety Reporting

If Val detects signs of distress or potential predatory contact involving a child, an immediate alert is sent to the parent or guardian associated with that child's profile. Shel™ does not automatically contact emergency services. Parents are responsible for taking appropriate action based on alerts they receive.

11. Accuracy Disclaimer

Shel™ is a layer of protection, not a guarantee. Detection accuracy varies by content type, device, and community data availability. Shel™ does not warrant that all inappropriate content will be detected or blocked. Parents should maintain active involvement in their children's digital activities.

12. Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users by email of material changes to this Privacy Policy at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of Shel™ after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
